Each game opens with a brief. Dual N-Back uses two independent streams: a position stream and a sound stream. You decide whether the current item matches what appeared N steps back on each stream. The brief on the first screen says which research task it descends from.

Levels and scoring
Every skill carries its own level from 0 to 100, and the Braintide Score is simply the average of the ten. Memory is the skill Dual N-Back sits in. Daily games follow an adaptive engine that holds you near the edge of what you can do. A separate checkpoint uses the same ten games at a fixed difficulty every fourteen days, so you can compare one sitting with the last.
What it does not claim
Braintide trains focus and memory for fun. It is a game, not a medical device, and it makes no claim to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. It shows no percentile, brain age or ranking against other people. Near transfer to the trained task is real; far transfer to general intelligence is contested.
