Piece of Cake launched in June with one game and a promise: more would follow, all on the same subscription, with nothing extra to buy. Gin Rummy and Farkle arrived in July and Chess in August. Version 2.0 brings eleven more, for fifteen games in all, on the App Store and Google Play.
Eleven New Games
- Cribbage: fifteen two, fifteen four, pegged to 121 or a quick 61.
- Yacht: five dice, three rolls, thirteen boxes to fill, and fifty points for five of a kind.
- Checkers: jump, crown and clear the board.
- Reversi: outflank, flip and take the corners.
- Four in a Row: drop discs and line up four before they do.
- Backgammon: race home and hit blots, as a single game or a match to 3, 5 or 7 points with the doubling cube.
- Ludo: roll a six and race your tokens home, for up to four.
- Snakes and Ladders: climb the ladders, dodge the snakes, for up to four.
- Sea Battle: hide your fleet and sink theirs.
- Moguls: buy the block, build the skyline, break the bank, for up to twelve.
- Dominoes: match the ends and go out first, to 50, 100 or 150 points.
They join Switch, Gin Rummy, Farkle and Chess. Every one has its own page on the Piece of Cake site with the full rules, word for word as the app plays them: see all fifteen games.
Real 3D Boards
Nine of the games play on real 3D boards: Chess, Checkers, Reversi, Four in a Row, Backgammon, Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, Cribbage and Yacht. The backgammon board has proper points and a doubling cube, the Four in a Row rack is walnut with brass trim, and Yacht’s dice tumble in a felt tray. If you would rather play flat, the 2D board is one tap away, and the app remembers your choice.
A Property Game for Twelve
Moguls is the biggest of the new arrivals: roll round the city, buy whole districts, build homes and towers, and collect rent until everyone else runs out of cash. It is built on Lizzie Magie’s public-domain The Landlord’s Game from 1904, with our own board, districts and cards, and it seats up to twelve. Tables can set the starting cash and a round limit, so a game can be a long evening or a tidy half-hour where the richest player wins.
House Rules, Your Way
Most of the new games let the table choose its rules when it is created: the Backgammon match length and whether to play with the cube, the Cribbage target, the Dominoes points to win, how you finish in Snakes and Ladders, the Sea Battle fleet, Moguls’ starting cash and round limit, and the Yacht bonus. Pick them once and everyone at the table plays by the same rules.
A New Way Around the App
Fifteen games needed a better front door. A new floating tab bar puts Home in the middle, and Home now opens with every game. Each game has its own hub: open tables, your tables, how to play and its leaderboard. The new Active tab gathers every game waiting on you, across all fifteen, with a badge when it is your turn, so a game of Cribbage on the bus and a Moguls marathon with the family never get lost in each other.
AI in Every Seat
Every game, old and new, has AI opponents at easy, medium or hard. Fill an empty seat, learn a new game solo before you take on your friends, or keep a quiet table moving. Every roll, deal and move is still checked on our servers, so nobody can peek or cheat, AI included.
Same Subscription
The pricing promise holds: one subscription, all fifteen games, with no coin packs, no ads and no per-game purchases. It is €1.99 a month or €9.99 a year in Ireland, with a 7-day free trial. If you already subscribe, the new games are simply there when you update.
