The RSA’s official Driver Theory Test learning app, on theorytest.ie, is on Android, iPhone and iPad. It contains the official question material and offers lifetime access. Candidates should also use those official materials.
Car & Bike Theory Ireland uses independently written questions and is not affiliated with the RSA or Prometric. Practice questions are not official Driver Theory Test questions. That distinction is the point of this page: the official app has the official bank; this app is extra practice with its own bank.
Car versus motorcycle
Category BW is the car (and light van) paper. Category AM is the motorcycle paper. Both are 40 questions in 45 minutes with a 35 pass mark. The banks are separate. After BW you apply for a first learner permit and complete EDT. After AM you complete Initial Basic Training. The format guides are the car test and the motorcycle test.
Free allowance and unlock
There is a free allowance: learn mode, one quick test, a mock preview and the Signs Trainer. A lifetime unlock is per category, not a subscription. The store shows the current price. A browser sample is the free 10-question quiz.
